Pen.

Local Food
My mother gave me the fountain pen that her father used to keep the accounts for the shoe store he owned in China, before the Red Army came through.

"He'd like you to use it," she said.

"I'd like to use it," I told her.

But I think the bladder might leak.  I can't tell; I don't own any pens of the fountainy persuasion and thus I own no ink.

What should I do, aficionados, to get this pen rehabilitated?

(passing through on friendsfriends)

I haven't had personal experience with this but have read several positive reports for the fountain pen hospital (see tab for repair info). They specialize in vintage pens. Good luck!

I was going to recommend this very same thing.

You might wish to consult with E-Bear, who recently posted about her lifelong addiction to fountain pens.

Unfortunately, I'm not overly familiar with bladder pens--but if all that's wrong with it is that the bladder leaks, you can take it to a repair place nad they can put in a new bladder.

It makes me laugh that pens have bladders.

It probably shouldn't.
